In a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19 infection, the Dehradun district magistrate ordered complete lockdown in parts of Mussoorie. As per the order, the total shutdown will be observed in Galway Cottage and St. George’s School, Barlow Ganj areas in view of rising coronavirus cases. During the period all shops and offices will remain closed. However, the district administration will arrange the sale of essential items.

Dehradun: In view of rising cases of coronavirus, the Dehradun district magistrate has ordered a complete lockdown in Galway Cottage and St. George s School, Barlow Ganj areas in Mussoorie.
As per the order, all shops and offices will remain shut and the sale of essential items will be arranged by the district administration.
In an official notification issued on Saturday, the Dehradun district magistrate said that people will need to stay indoors during the lockdown and that only one person from a family will be allowed to step out for purchasing essential items from the government mobile shop in the locality.
Owing to the ongoing pandemic, the Uttarakhand government has decided to limit the Kumbh this year for 30 days, Chief Secretary Om Prakash had earlier said. The fair to be held for 30 days only in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
