Jamie Raskin (L) (D-MD) at a press conference after the conclusion of former President Donald Trump s second impeachment trial February 13, 2021 in Washington, DC. Top Republicans on several House committees demanded answers from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about security decisions made leading up to and on the day of the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. According to a Fox News report, House Administration Committee Member Rodney Davis, House Oversight Committee Ranking Member James Comer, House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan, and House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes asked Pelosi about her responsibility for the security of the Capitol on Jan. 6.

The facts are that President Donald Trump had ordered the Guard to be available if Pelosi and/or Mayor Muriel Bowser requested it. But as we noted, they didn’t do so, until the action at the Capitol was well underway on Jan. 6.
