When you count the legal luminaries transforming Nigeria’s socio-political landscape, Toye Sobande would likely be among your top three. A seasoned scholar, leadership expert and lawyer, Sobande’s journey is one that has likely impacted your life, whether through him or through his mentees.
For those unfamiliar with his growth record, Sobande’s passage into leadership development began since his childhood where he showcased his ambitious zeal and analytical-thinking skills at will, but they morphed fully from his undergraduate study days at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ife, and continued to shine throughout his service year at the annual National Youth Service Corps.

A legal icon and founder of Afe Babalola University, Ekiti, Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) , has written a letter to the Southern Governors Forum (SGF), seeking the governorsâ backing for his proposed convocation of a private summit to discuss all the problems confronting the nation.
Babalola sought the SGFâs backing for the concept tagged: âSummit of Hope,â having passed a resolution urging President Muhammadu Buhari to convene a National Conference to restructure the country despite Presidencyâs foreclosure of such policy.
Babalola in a letter dated May 17, 2021, congratulated the 17 governors from different political parties in the Southern part of the country for rising above partisan politics and for the 12-point resolution raised after their meeting in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Hypothesis-building is generally believed to be reserved for academic research projects. Researchers are required to, first of all, reflect on critical questions or problematic, then come up with observations and thrusts that are to be tested in light of further empirical investigations and exegesis. Thus, like German Foundations and other types of cornerstones are required in solid building constructions, so is hypothesis required in building theories in various social science disciplines. Grosso modo, hypothesis is the first stage of research reflections, after collation of data and preliminary study. The ultimate in the continuum of research processes is the theory, the final outcome of research finding, which, under normal situations, should guide political governance. It is not hypothesis, to begin with, that should be the foundation of or drive public governance.
