COMSATS to explore more projects with China

Islamabad : The Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) has further explored the prospects of launching multilateral projects under the umbrella of Belt and Road Initiative, with the Ambassador of China to Pakistan, Nong Rong. A Founding Member of COMSATS, China, has representation at all statutory bodies of COMSATS through its Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST); and Centres of Excellence – the International Center for Climate and Environment Sciences (ICCES) and the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology (TIB).
During a meeting the Chinese Ambassador held in the Embassy, a four-member delegation of COMSATS, led by Dr. S.M. Junaid Zaidi, Executive Director COMSATS met the newly appointed ambassador of China. Integrating mathematical modeling and research simulation can aide in formation of climate change related policies at national and international levels to better deal with the changing climate conditions.
This was shared at an international webinar organised by the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) Centre for Climate and Sustainability (CCCS) titled ‘Modeling and simulation on climate change and environmental pollution: Strengthening resilience in the Global South’ on Wednesday, a spokesperson shared.

Cleaner energy resources critical to mitigate climate change effects

Islamabad : Quicker transition to cleaner resources of energy is crucial to mitigate climate change related effects, which can’t be achieved without adoption and implementation of energy efficient practices in industries and other segments of society. A key concern in this regard is also the management of agriculture waste through conversion to biochemical fuels.
A number of such recommendations were the outcome of an international webinar hosted by the Centre for Climate and Sustainability (CCCS) of the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) that had the overarching theme of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) – Affordable and Clean Energy.
