TAMPA â The name of the woman who died this week when her car crashed into a New Tampa pond was released by police on Friday.
Nicole Allen, 38, died Wednesday when her car veered off the K Bar Ranch Parkway and into a pond near Laurel Vista Way in the K Bar Ranch community, according to Tampa police and Tampa Fire Rescue officials.

TAMPA, Fla. â The Tampa Police officer who died after crashing into a wrong-way driver was awarded the agency s Life Saving Award seven times throughout his career.
Master Patrol Officer Jesse Madsen, 45, had served as a Tampa Police officer for 16 and a half years.
He was a husband and father of three. He was also a U.S. Marine.
He died on Tuesday morning around 1 a.m. after his patrol car crashed into a wrong-way driver on I-275. We have reason to believe that he veered into this oncoming car to protect others, that is what we gathered through some of our witnesses, said Police Chief Brian Dugan. When you look at someone who has earned seven Life Saving Awards, it s no surprise, he would take such swift action and do this.
Fire breaks out in Aloft Tampa Midtown Hotel laundry room
The sprinkler system helped isolate the fire in the Midtown Tampa hotel, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.

Tampa Fire Rescue crews responded to a fire at Aloft Hotel Midtown at
3650 Midtown Drive about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The fire was caused by a drier in the second-floor laundry room. The hotel was evacuated and no one was injured. [ Tampa Fire Rescue ]

TAMPA â Aloft Tampa Midtown Hotel was evacuated Saturday night after a dryer caught fire, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.
Firefighters arrived about 8:30 p.m. at the six-story hotel at 3650 Midtown Drive to investigate a report of a fire. The hotel is located in the Midtown Tampa development near N Dale Mabry Highway and W Cypress Street.
