Tampa has officially gone to the dogs. Honest Paws ranked 50 cities to find the best and worst U.S. communities for your canine-pals and found Tampa was number one!

Breed-Specific Legislation Ban (BSL) by State
Honest Paws says Tampa has 15 dog parks, 52 pet-friendly breweries, and six dog-friendly beaches nearby with a few allowing dogs to frolic in the water and roam off-leash, helping it secure the number one spot on the list. Hillsborough County does not have a breed-specific legislation ban, also contributing to the ranking.

BRANDON, Fla. â A Florida sheriff s deputy who was just days away from retirement died in the line of duty Monday evening.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said deputies were responding to a call for service from management at the Paddock Club Apartments around 3:42 p.m. Monday.
The caller said the man had been throwing furniture and clothes out of his apartment window and front door. The caller also said this individual has threatened to harm staff in the past. Deputies were not able to make contact with the man and left the area.

TAMPA, FL Tampa News Force s latest film, Jesus Talks, will premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 9:10 p.m. as part of the 2021 Dunedin International Film Festival at the Fenway Hotel, Autograph Collection in Dunedin.
The film will be the fourth from Tampa News Force and continues a streak of three years of having submissions accepted for presentation at DIFF, following Plane Train (2019), Possum Man (2020) and Steak Break (also 2020).

TAMPA, Fla. â Tampa is less than a month out from the Super Bowl, a highlight for fans and a dark draw for human sex trafficking.
On Monday, Human Trafficking Awareness Day, Attorney General Ashley Moody joined hotel industry leaders and non-profits working to fight human trafficking, to outline the efforts leading up to the Super Bowl on Feb. 7.
The American Hotel & Lodging Foundation (AHLA Foundation), in partnership with the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA), announced the launch of its No Room for Trafficking program, building upon the yearly training already taking place for thousands of hotel employees on how to identify and stop human trafficking.
