Union Home Minister Amit Shah, too, seems to have joined the list of north Indian politicians who relish traditional south Indian food. Mr. Shah, on his way to the Tiruchi airport after concluding his visit to Karur on Thursday night, visited a roadside restaurant at Krishnarayapuram to have a quick bite. His meal included idli and dosa. As word spread about his visit, locals gathered around. Mr. Shah made good use of the opportunity to seek votes for the alliance.

AAA With less than a day left for campaigning, the AIADMK has released a compilation of its poll promises. This includes washing machines, six free LPG cylinders a year, door delivery of commodities and free solar stoves to family cardholders. In a joint statement, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam said their government had kept all its promises. They said though they began as ordinary party workers, former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had given them various positions and today they had risen to such offices.
Saturday held a road show here, canvassing votes for BJP s Thousand Lights candidate Khushbu Sundar for the April 6 Assembly elections. The BJP veteran travelled atop an open van with Sundar and AIADMK candidates from nearby constituencies at the well- attended roadshow. Amid chants of Bharat Mata ki jai and fluttering flags of alliance parties being carried by the respective outfits, Shah attended the road show in the last leg of the campaign, which ends tomorrow, here. BJP has fielded Sundar, an actor-politician, from this constituency, where she will be taking on DMK s Dr N Ezhilan. Elections to 234 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu are scheduled on April and the counting of votes will be done on May 2.

Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu) [India], April 3 (ANI): Underlining the importance of upcoming polls in Tamil Nadu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said the election results will decide whether the state will walk on the path of dynasty or on the path of MG Ramachandran. This Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu is a very important for the future of the state. These elections will decide if Tamil Nadu will walk on the path of dynasty or on the path of Makkal Thilagam MG Ramachandran, said Shah while addressing a public meeting in Tirunelveli.
