(Fargo, ND) Fargo Public Schools is supporting its students and staff members by providing resources surrounding the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin in his role in the death of George Floyd.
Under the advisement of Director of Equity and Inclusion Dr. Tamara Uselman, and drawing directly from University of Minnesota resources, FPS is equipping building administrators and staff members with advice and direction to help ensure all individuals in our schools feel supported.
FPS recognizes that students and staff may need additional emotional support in the lead up to the verdict and after the trial of Derek Chauvin for the death of George Floyd. Further, we understand the verdict may have a greater impact on students and staff of color. Information pulled from The Prevention, Wellness, and Training Committee of the Provost’s Council for Student Mental Health at the University of Minnesota suggests staff members:

NY Mills looking toward another successful year
Teachers and staff will be reporting to school during the week of August 30 for training and workshops, and students will report for their first day of school Tuesday, September 7. The doors to school will be open at 8 a.m. and we look forward to.
