Centre Allocates Rs.1,050 Cr For Agricultural Mechanisation Scheme

The Centre has allocated a Rs.1,050 crore budget for the Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation (SMAM) for 2021-22, according to the Agriculture Ministry.
Between financial 2014-15 and 2020-21, funds worth Rs.4,556.93 crore have been released under the SMAM scheme to states and other implementing institutions, added a statement from the Ministry.
Over 13 lakh agricultural machines have been distributed and more than 27,500 Custom Hiring Institutions established.
Agricultural mechanisation contributes towards improving the efficiency and effectivity of the inputs used in crop production. Thus, productivity of crops increases. This also reduces drudgery associated with various farm operations.

GUWAHATI: Minister of Agriculture Atul Bora on Friday flagged off a fleet of 20 LED screen-mounted vehicles that will display various schemes and projects taken up by the Department in different areas.
The vehicles were inaugurated during a programme held at the Directorate of Agriculture at Khanapara.
During the programme, Bora also distributed 15 tractors and other agricultural equipments that can be taken on rent by farmers from Custom Hiring Centres set up in 16 districts. The tractors and the equipments were distributed under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development scheme which was launched in the year 2016-17.
While the total cost of the 20 LED screen-mounted vehicles is Rs 2 crore, the cost ofthe tractors and other equipments is Rs. 1.6 crore.
AP Govt To Set Up Multi Purpose Facility Centres Across State Jan 01, 2021, 11:00 IST
Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said the state government will set up multi purpose facility centers including agricultural marketing and food processing under RBKs across the State with an estimated budget of Rs 10,235 crore.
During a review meeting on Dr YSR RBKs, Agricultural Marketing, Food Processing and Amul project held here on Thursday, the Chief Minister siad the construction of multi purpose facility centers should start in March 2021 and would be completed within a year.The facilities include Warehouses, Drying Platform, Collection Centers, Cold Rooms for Storage, Custom Hiring Centers, Primary Processing Centers, Assaying Equipment, Janata Bazaars, Bulk Milk Cooling Units, Cattle sheds and aqua infra in select Villages, Procurement Centers and e-marketing.

Amaravati: Farmers had sowed well in 2019 election and are reaping a bounty harvest with Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy rolling a green carpet and continuing the legacy of being farmer friendly through his various welfare schemes and projects. The Year has seen good rainfall, bounty crop and in the testing times of Covid, the Chief Minister gave the much needed helping hand by buying agriculture produce, even perishable goods, and ensuing MSP and checking the price fluctuations.
The farmers could not have asked for more, with Rythu Bharosa being given in three timely spells, corp insurance, input subsidy, soft loans, setting up of Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) which serve as one stop shop for all the needs of farmer from supply of quality seeds to procurement and marketing facilities.
‘Betterment of farmers priority’

Jammu, Dec 25: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi relasing Rs 18,000 cr for farmers, a programme was held simultaneously at Kisan Kendra, Jammu where Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha addressed the farmers.
Sinha observed that the farmers of Jammu and Kashmir have been provided with financial assistance worth around Rs 1132 crore under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He outlined that the welfare of the farmers and betterment of their livelihood is the prime focus of the Union as well as UT Government.
The UT Government has taken comprehensive measures for the development of the agriculture and allied sectors in J&K. 100% coverage under PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi has been ensured in J&K so that no beneficiary is left behind in availing the benefits of the scheme, he added.
