The Glendale City Council next week will hold a meeting on proposed water and sewer rate increases. Currently, the average household consumer in Glendale who uses 9,000 gallons per month currently pays about $82.00 per month. “Council is proposing a 4.3% increase for water and a 3.0% increase for sewer,” according to the city’s Water Services deputy director Katrina Alberty who said the proposed rate increases are not related to the Colorado River Basin Drought Contingency Plan.   Alberty clarified, “Whether it’s our contracted services, our raw water costs, our chemicals to treat the water, electricity, infrastructure costs to keep the pipes and plants running, [prices] continue to go up.”
