Updated Thursday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. PT: Fox’s “The Moodys” Season 2 premiere has been set for Thursday, April 1 at 9 p.m., with back-to-back episodes airing. The following week, on Thursday, April 8, “The Moodys” will make its time-slot debut at 9:30 and “Last Man Standing” will shift from that time up to 9 p.m.
Winter is acting as a second fall this broadcast TV season, seeing the debuts of new and returning shows that didn’t make the cut for autumn lineup due to production delays brought on by the pandemic.

Back in the foggy mists of early 2020, looking ahead to upcoming winter TV shows was a pleasant exercise in predicting which series might be good. Within a few short months, as we all now know, everything changed. Just as normal routines and rituals were transformed, so was TV, which makes the 2021 winter TV premiere schedule look a bit different than usual.
During the past year, series that we expected to return were put on pause, as the coronavirus pandemic forced productions to shut down. Shows that kept on going eventually adapted as best they could, turning to “bubbles,” frequent testing and other expensive, time-consuming measures intended to create a safe working environment.

Matt James, the charismatic and engaging star of ABC’s hit romance reality series “The Bachelor,” will hand out the roses for its momentous 25th season. After meeting James as a prospective suitor for “The Bachelorette,” Bachelor Nation swooned when they learned he would take on the role as the lead of his own love story. The series was filmed at Nemacolin resort this fall.

Premieres of new, returning and delayed-by-the-pandemic series begin rolling out on broadcast networks next week, including the 25th edition of ABC’s “The Bachelor” (8 p.m. Jan. 4, WTAE-TV), filmed this fall under a covid-19 quarantine bubble at Nemacolin in Farmington, Fayette County.
