BOULDER All the long hours in the gym and in the film room over a long, long offseason appear to be paying dividends for Colorado Buffaloes senior McKinley Wright IV.
After five games, Wright s numbers are pointing to career bests in virtually every critical category for a point guard: points, shooting percentage, assists and turnovers.
Wright focused on those areas after exploring his NBA Draft potential. The teams with which he spoke named those areas as points of emphasis. Those discussions, combined with conversations with CU head coach Tad Boyle and his staff, gave Wright plenty of homework over the summer, and he attacked the work with his usual vigor and dedication.

th grade. It was after school at basketball practice with his team surrounding him all waiting to see the only player on the team capable of dunking finally throw it down. And when he did, they all went crazy.
Bey grew up in the entertainment capital of the world: Las Vegas, Nevada. Even though he dunked the ball for the first time in 7
th grade, he only started playing basketball for the first time a year before that as it wasn’t the first sport he wanted to play.

The Colorado Buffaloes hosted Northern Colorado in their home opener Monday night at the CU Events Center. After falling in Knoxville to No. 12 Tennessee last Tuesday, Colorado looked to get back on track against the Bears. Head coach Tad Boyle and the Buffs defeated Northern Colorado, 81-45.
“I thought we were really efficient tonight,” Boyle said following the win. “Offensively, we shot over 50 percent, we haven’t done that I don’t think all year. Defensively, I thought we did a good job with our ball screen coverages because Northern Colorado is a good ball screen team, they’re a good driving team, they’re a good three-point shooting team. I thought we did a really good job defensively against them.”
