In what will be the biggest inoculation drive in the world, India is gearing up to begin vaccinating its population against the ongoing coronavirus. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the rollout of Covid-19 vaccination programme on January 16.
PM Modi will also launch the Co-WIN (COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network) App, a digital platform created for real-time monitoring of COVID-19 vaccine delivery and distribution.
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) As COVID-19 vaccine eligibility expands to all adults by April 15, Californians with underlying conditions, teachers and food workers, people are asking: Where can I sign up?
If you re eligible to get a vaccine now, you can use the state s MyTurn site. It allows you to check your eligibility and make appointments at mass vaccination sites and pharmacies. If you re not currently eligible, you can also sign up to be notified when it s your turn. However, if you re not eligible you cannot make an early appointment on MyTurn. In a January 11 briefing, the Executive said the County has a goal of vaccinating 2,000 people a week with allocations coming from the Federal Government to New York State and then sent by the State to Broome County. The problem is, those thousands of doses just aren t available yet.
The County has been receiving a couple hundred of doses a week that have been earmarked for those in group 1a: primarily healthcare workers, nursing home staff and residents, Emergency Medical personnel and people who administer the vaccine and others in patient-forward jobs.
The second group is much larger and includes teachers, educators, transit workers, police, fire, other medical staff not in group 1a and residents aged 75 and over.
New Jersey residents began to sign up to get their COVID-19 vaccinations over the weekend, except they aren’t supposed to be able to do that unless they’re.
“I think the decision to lower the age eligibility for the vaccine rollout is appropriate, particularly when we have significant concerns right now about community spread,” said Dr. Mercedes Carnethon with Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
Steve Brandy with the Will County Health Department said the county is trying to get more partners and medical providers involved to help distribute the vaccine.
More than 40,000 people in Will County have taken a COVID-19 Vaccination Registration Survey.
“It’s not making an appointment for your vaccine,” said Steve Brandy, Will County Health Department spokesman. “It’s letting us know you want to have the vaccine.”
