Minster Schools reviews new COVID protocols

MINSTER New COVID protocols and future real estate tax renewals were topics at the Minster Board of Education meeting Monday night, Jan. 11.
Superintendent Brenda Boeke reported that Governor Mike DeWine has changed its guidance regarding quarantines following an in-classroom exposure in K-12 schools. The new policy dictates that students and teachers exposed to a COVID-positive person in school are no longer required to quarantine as long as the exposure occurred in a classroom setting and all students/teachers were wearing masks and following other appropriate protocols.

Bill Myers and Beverly Rhoads were approved by unanimous votes to return to their respective positions as president and vice president during the Hillsboro Board of Education’s annual organizational meeting Monday.
Prior to the organizational meeting the board held a public hearing on the 2021-22 school calendar it expects to approve at next month’s meeting. Superintendent Tim Davis said the proposed calendar is “pretty much the same” as this year’s, with one exception being that students will be off for Christmas break from Saturday, Dec. 18 through Monday, Jan. 3.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (UND Athletics) The National Collegiate Hockey Conference today announced several alterations to schedules for the next two week’s games. Included in those are second-ranked North Dakota’s next two series, as its scheduled Friday-Saturday tilts with Denver will move back two days and the ensuing home weekend with Colorado College will move back one day.
Due to a combination of positive COVID-19 tests, contact tracing and subsequent quarantining of individuals the past two weekends, all NCHC West division games were shifted. The Omaha at Colorado College games will now be played on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 18-19. The other affected series is the Minnesota Duluth at Miami series, which has been postponed to Jan. 29-30.
Robert Searle Wade
Kennedy, N.Y. – “Bob” Robert Searle Wade, 92, of Route 394 Town of Randolph, Kennedy, NY, passed away unexpectedly at 3:35 a.m., Thursday, (Dec. 24, 2020) at home with his wife Marion (Peetie West) Wade at his side.
He was born Dec. 17, 1928 in Jamestown, the son of the late William A. and Mary (Searle) Wade.
Bob was a 1946 graduate of Randolph Central School, where he played basketball, football and baseball and was named all-star in all three sports. He additionally was on three championship teams, two Bi-County Championships and a sectionals championship in basketball.
Following High School, Bob enlisted in the United States Army Air-Corp and served from Sep. 11, 1946 to Aug. 18, 1949, he trained as an air traffic controller and after 8 months, he became an instructor at Scott Air Field in Illinois. From there, Bob was sent to Japan and served two years there with the Army Occupation. While in Japan, he played basketball and football for the 5th
