Lee details Marshall coaching search on MetroNews Hotline

By January 19, 2021 - 11:57 am HUNTINGTON, W.Va. Marshall University has a new head football coach in former Alabama assistant coach Charles Huff following a near two week-long search process. On January 4, the day that former coach Doc Holliday announced his contract would not be renewed, Marshall President Jerome Gilbert formed a search committee comprised of a variety of Marshall interests. One of those on the committee, Marshall Hall of Famer and NFL All-Pro Carl Lee, detailed parts of the search on MetroNews ‘Hotline’ that led Marshall to name Huff the program’s 31st head football coach on Sunday. School districts see new officials | News, Sports, Jobs

With the upcoming year, some local school districts are welcoming officials to new positions.. Marietta City Schools has a change in its board members as Russ Garrison is the new president with Doug Mallet serving as the vice president alongside board members Stacey Hall, Mark Duckworth and Bill Hutchinson. A few committee changes took place as well. Hall serves on the business advisory council, IT and curriculum committees; Hutchinson is the chair of the finance, buildings and grounds committees; Duckworth also works with the buildings and grounds committee along with the athletic council and city recreation board. Garrison will serve on the records, security and curriculum committees.

(Photo by Tyler Bennett) BELPRE As part of the first board of education meeting of 2021, the Belpre City Schools named Mike Miller as Board President and Fred Meredith as Vice President on Monday evening at Stone Administration Building/Early Learning Center. Both Miller and Meredith were voted unanimously in each of their positions and ran unopposed. This will be Miller’s fourth year on the board and he served as Vice President last year. It will be Meredith’s 11th year.

WADA issues reminder as 2021 World Anti-Doping Code enters into force Sunday, 3 January 2021 The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has issued a reminder to all stakeholders that the 2021 World Anti-Doping Code has now entered into force. From Friday (January 1), the Code, new International Standards, and the Athletes Anti-Doping Rights Act came into force.  The documents, subject to a two-year stakeholder consultation process, were approved on November 7 2019 during WADA s World Conference on Doping in Sport in Katowice in Poland.  The 2021 Code, which follows on from previous versions that entered into effect in 2004, 2009 and 2015, includes a number of changes to global anti-doping policies, rules and regulations within anti-doping organisations (ADOs) around the world.
