The victim, Tofik Ali Khan, 42, is a resident of Pillappa Lake and has a workshop in Cubbonpet. He filed a complaint with Cubbon Park police on Friday. Khan said that the accused, Naresh Kumar, had contacted him on January 2, introducing himself as a middleman working for well-known jewellery companies. “He dropped the names of a few jewellery brands and told me that they were looking for goldsmiths and thus, he wanted to see my work. After seeing my designs, he asked me to get some of the gold jewellery to show him and his boss.
