JACKSON, Ga. As the weather gets warmer and more people are getting their COVID-19 vaccinations, their attention is turning to spring and summer travel plans.
There are plenty of cool places for couples and families to visit that feel like a million miles away, but are actually nearby. This series is called Stay Local for Less.
The Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council and the Mayor of Derry and Strabane have joined together in calling for compliance and for people on both sides of the border to adhere to restrictions and stay local.
The message comes as the weather is set to improve over the weekend and various restrictions have been lifted. Cllrs Rena Donaghey and Brian Tierney say with figures for COVID 19 still relatively high in both council areas, its imperative the public don’t become complacent.

THE SCOTTISH Government has clarified that you must not stay away from your local council area overnight if taking advantage of eased Covid restrictions coming into force from Friday, which allow people to travel across Scotland to visit family or friends outdoors.
Given the nature of Shetland’s travel links, this appears to throw into question whether islanders, or folk living south looking to travel to see family and friends in the isles, will be able to benefit from the new rules.

However, it will only be a week and half to wait until transport links to Shetland are fully reopened for all on 26 April.
