Henrico County venue to rebound with variety of live music
The Tin Pan had to shut down last March amid COVID-19. With the country re-opening, this concert venue will open its doors on July 18 at half capacity with some social distancing.

RICHMOND, Va. Live music is back at a venue in Henrico County and they ll be featuring a list of popular artists of all different genres. We have artists, really international artists, nationally acclaimed artists, some great local talent, regional upcoming artists of all kinds of genres, says Lisa Harrison co-owner of The Tin Pan.
Bend Film Debuts Saving Grace Documentary
BendFilm will debut a short documentary created in collaboration with Saving Grace of Central Oregon at BendFilm’s fifth annual “Power of Film” fundraiser today, June 4. The documentary will highlight the life-affirming work of Saving Grace in offering safety, hope, and healing to survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault.
“The art form of film has a unique power to serve as a uniting force as well as one that leaves people inspired to affect real and lasting change which is in essence BendFilm’s core principle,” commented BendFilm Executive Director Todd Looby. “We want to help Saving Grace tell their incredibly important story in an accessible and ultimately uplifting way. The Top 40 finalists, selected by a new panel of national screeners, hail from 15 states coast to coast. Forty of the nation’s top high school vocalists have been selected to participate in the 2021 Songbook Academy® summer intensive, a week of personal instruction and mentoring from arts and entertainment professionals presented each year by the Great American Songbook Foundation.
Now in its 12th year, the Songbook Academy is the nation’s leading youth music intensive focused on timeless standards from the worlds of jazz, Broadway, Hollywood and Tin Pan Alley. Typically offered on-site at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, where the Songbook Foundation is headquartered, the program is again shifting to a virtual format this year in response to the logistical and safety issues posed by the ongoing pandemic.
