MIDDLETOWN, NJ More work on the McClees Bridge on Navesink River Road:
Starting Saturday, May 7, McClees Bridge on that stretch of Navesink River Road will remain closed through the weekend and into next week, announced Middletown Police.
This is Navesink River Road between McClees Road and Club Way. Follow posted detours.

As Patch previously reported, the McClees bridge replacement project started March 22 and is expected to be ongoing through the spring.
Plan alternate routes and expect delays if you live in that area.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car Tuesday evening on Rt. 35 at Navesink River Road in Middletown, according to Middletown Police.
The fatal crash happened at 7:53 p.m. in the northbound lanes at the intersection of Rt. 35 and Navesink River Road. The pedestrian, whose identity is not being released at this time, suffered fatal injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remained on location.

The crash scene is still active and as a result, northbound traffic on State Route 35 has been temporarily shut down at the intersection of Bridge Avenue and State Route 35 in Red Bank. Detours may change as the investigation continues.

Police said they responded to Route 35 and Navesink River Road around 7:53 pm last night after an accident in the northbound lanes.
The driver of the vehicle did remain at the scene following the crash.
Northbound traffic on State Route 35 had been temporarily shut down at the intersection of Bridge Avenue and State Route 35 in Red Bank.
As they continue to investigate and look into what happened, police are asking that if you have any information, you should contact their Traffic Safety Unit at (732) 615-2045.

Pedestrian fatally struck on N.J. highway, police say

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night in Middletown, police said.
Officers responded to the incident shortly before 8 p.m. at Route 35 and Navesink River Road, according to Middletown police. The pedestrian was fatally struck in the highway’s northbound lanes, authorities said.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, according to a statement from police.
“The crash scene is still active and as a result, northbound traffic on State Route 35 has been temporarily shut down at the intersection of Bridge Avenue and State Route 35 in Red Bank,” police said Tuesday night. “Detours may change as the investigation continues.”
