Prisoners are being punished Respectfully, I must disagree with Patrick Condon. People in jail are awaiting trial. 2020 saw some terrible postponements of fair trials due to COVID-19 but that is not happening now. They are likely criminals, and getting mail could potentially include things not meant to be mailed. Committing a crime does not give you the right to have the same privileges as law abiding citizens. I worked at a book store and you can not buy a book and send to a jail or prison. It has to come directly from the publisher. Not getting mail is not the same as being denied food, or the ability to have hygiene.

Officer fatally shoots man with butcher knives, Nashville police say Nicole Acevedo © Provided by NBC News A police officer fatally shot a man during a traffic stop in Nashville, Tennessee, early Saturday morning after he charged the officer with two butcher knives, authorities said. The shooting took place in the city s Bordeaux neighborhood around midnight while Officer Christopher Royer was on routine patrol, Metropolitan Nashville Police Department spokesman Don Aaron said in a press conference following the shooting. Royer initiated the traffic stop after learning the license plate on a white Mercedes was registered to a green Chevrolet, Aaron said. While the driver remained cooperative throughout the traffic stop, the passenger immediately got out of the vehicle with two butcher knives.

Meshi-Zahav, reportedly, tried to hang himself in the early morning hours Thursday. He was later found by his son, who was not at home at the time of the incident. His son called Magen David Adam emergency services, who arrived at the scene and evacuated him to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem where his now hospitalized in critical condition.
