Local government elections are 100 days away The Local Government Minister today launched the Vocal Local campaign, calling on people to consider standing for election With just 100 days until the Western Australian local government elections, community members are being asked to be a ‘Vocal Local’ by nominating for election to their local council.   Local government elections are held every two years, with the next round on October 16, 2021. Nominations open on September 2, 2021 and close at 4pm on September 9, 2021. Launching the Vocal Local campaign today, Local Government Minister John Carey called on anyone with great ideas for their community to give serious thought to standing for election.
