Barbuda Council called on to account for ‘idle’ shredder
Spread the love
Last year, a Komplet company representative estimated the Barbuda Landfill could be cleared in two weeks, using the Komplet Krokodile Mobile Shredder
The Barbuda Council is being asked to account for the alleged failure to make adequate use of a costly mobile shredder, handed over one year ago.
The shredder, which was provided under the European Union (EU) funded Housing Support to Barbuda project, is capable of processing construction waste at a rate of 20 tonnes per hour.
One year ago, 25 persons completed training on the shredder at the landfill site in Codrington.
Cautionary Statements
The fully Integrated Project PEA referred to in this announcement has been undertaken to determine the potential viability of the integrated project comprising a mine/concentrator and chemical plant in northern Ontario and to reach a decision to proceed with more definitive studies. This PEA is preliminary in nature, includes inferred mineral resources that are considered too geologically speculative to have the economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves. There is no certainty the PAK Lithium Project outlined by the PEA will be realized. The Company has concluded it has a reasonable basis for providing the forward-looking statements included in this announcement and believes that it has a reasonable basis to expect it will be able to fund the development of the Integrated Project. Given the uncertainties involved, investors should not make any investment decisions based solely on the results of the PEA
I live across the street from 902 Foul Bay Rd., and I feel I am qualified to respond to the opinion piece by Trevor Walker. This proposed development is about more than the loss of two trees. This lot is triple-heritage designated (now double, since the heritage house burned down). It is on three streets (Foul Bay Road, Quamichan Street and Redfern Street), but access to the property is from Redfern Street only. Redfern Street is a very busy street, pending closure of Richardson Street for a bike lane, it will become busier with people finding alternate routes to and from Oak Bay/downtown.
