Speaking at a domestic violence support centre today, Mr Albanese will announce businesswoman Madonna Jarrett as Labor s candidate for the electorate of Brisbane.   It was one of two seats in Queensland to see a swing against the Coalition in the 2019 poll, with the LNP s Trevor Evans winning with 55 per cent of the two-party preferred vote, down 1 per cent.

On Tuesday the party will announce Elizabeth Watson-Brown, design strategy leader at Architectus Australia, as their candidate for the western Brisbane seat held by first-term LNP MP Julian Simmonds. Elizabeth Watson-Brown, one of the architects behind Cbus Property’s 443 Queen Street, will stand as a Greens candidate in the seat of Ryan.
