Subscriber only The battle for Brisbane is heating up with Opposition leader Anthony Albanese flying in to the city today to announce Labor s candidate for the inner-city seat. Speaking at a domestic violence support centre today, Mr Albanese will announce businesswoman Madonna Jarrett as Labor s candidate for the electorate of Brisbane. Â It was one of two seats in Queensland to see a swing against the Coalition in the 2019 poll, with the LNP s Trevor Evans winning with 55 per cent of the two-party preferred vote, down 1 per cent.
Amy Murrell had been appointed the new general manager for people and culture, and would start in May reporting to Jeremy Hubbard – group executive, innovation and transformation.
Murrell held senior human resources roles in the financial services sector, most recently as general manager, people and culture at Resolution Life Australasia.
She also spent more than a decade at AMP Group, including as the head of people services and governance, and the head of people and culture projects.
Vicki Doyle, REST chief executive, said Evans’ retirement had provided an opportunity to refine our structure as we continue to build internal capabilities.

The Brisbane architect who co-designed the soaring 443 Queen Street tower that looms over Brisbaneâs heritage-listed Customs House will try to win the blue-ribbon federal seat of Ryan for the Greens.
On Tuesday the party will announce Elizabeth Watson-Brown, design strategy leader at Architectus Australia, as their candidate for the western Brisbane seat held by first-term LNP MP Julian Simmonds.
Elizabeth Watson-Brown, one of the architects behind Cbus Propertyâs 443 Queen Street, will stand as a Greens candidate in the seat of Ryan.
