Fall River homebound residents eligible for in-home COVID vaccines

FALL RIVER If you can’t get to the vaccine the vaccine will come to you. That’s been the case during the past five weeks for a growing number of homebound Fall River residents  who either are physically unable or would have great difficulty leaving their residences in order to visit a COVID-19 vaccination site. The city’s home-visit vaccine program has been handled by the Fire Department’s EMS, or emergency medical services, division. As of Wednesday afternoon, a total of 278 mostly elderly and incapacitated city residents had received either Moderna or Johnson & Johnson shots, according to EMS Lt. Nick Silva.

Sign Up Highland Council plans to introduce a charge for its Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points – after footing a £50,000 bill last year. Still to be approved, the tariff is likely to be around 30p per kWh for rapid chargers, and 20p per kWh for slower chargers, in line with the Electric Vehicle Association Scotland’s tariff guidance.

Sign Up Highland councillors agreed that Inverness Dalcross airport is to get its own multi-million twin platform rail link – but the decision came with only a muted fanfare. Concern over the removal of the level crossing at Petty took up a great deal of councillor energy in debate over the issue. Network Rail upgraded plans for a single platform station to a double last year in a venture transport chiefs say will result in a reduction in road travel to the airport, promoting greener travel choices whilst increasing capacity on the Inverness to Aberdeen line.
