Cartoon Network Looking For Artists For Drawn To Series

Cartoon Network is looking for more artists to take part in their Drawn To Series. The initiative has been around for a little while now as the channel showcases young people making a difference in their communities. This year alone featured some Martin Luther King Jr. Day programming and other civic service highlights. But, along with those interviews with real kids, there is some very nice art to go along with the effort. Atlanta-based artist George Baker supplied the opening sequence for the MLK episode. The channel is working to get some other artists the chance to be compensated for their work. On Twitter, CN asked fans to submit a portfolio and will select one to work with on an upcoming episode. Of course, there are tons of people hustling in for a chance to be featured. It would be a giant portfolio and resume boost for any artist out there. So, check out the information down below:

HBO and Cartoon Network’s upcoming animation slate runs from preschoolers to families, offering more than 300 hours of original series, specials, and acquisitions that will debut on its global Cartoon Network channels and HBO Max beginning later this year. Fan-favorite hits like “Infinity Train,” “Ben 10,” and “Craig of the Creek” are returning alongside new series like “Gremlins,” “Jade Armor,” and “Gross Girls.”
“After 100 years of creating some of the world’s most beloved IP, today we’re at the beginning of our new story, with the history, corporate unity, and modern approach to be the industry leader our heritage deserves,” said Tom Ascheim, President of Warner Bros. Cartoon Network has released it’s “Drawn to Change” series today in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The company wants to use the day to continue the conversation around equitable, inspired storytelling. Yolanda Renee King (granddaughter of the civil rights legend) will have a conversation with Craig from
Craig of the Creek. Atlanta-based artist and muralist George Baker supplied the opening sequence. For those without a cable subscription, all of the Drawn To episodes will be made available across the Cartoon Network social platforms. That includes the CN app as well!
