Muktsar, July 2
SAD chief and Ferozepur MP Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday said the Congress government in the state had failed to increase the power generation, as a result people are witnessing long unscheduled power cuts.
He addressed the party workers at Lambi village at a protest against the state government over the power cuts.
Sukhbir said, During our government, I used to hold review meetings of the power department every Monday. Besides, I used to get a message on my cellphone every morning about the power requirement in the state and the generation capacity. However, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is least bothered about the power scenario in the state. The demand for electricity has increased with the passage of time, but he has not done anything to increase the generation. Some power plants are still not operating to their full capacity.
