Cascade County officials: COVID-19 order enforcement hasn t changed

Cascade County law enforcement officials and the Cascade City-County Health Department (CCHD) said Thursday that there have been no changes in the way they enforce COVID-19 related mandates. In March 2020, a stay-at-home order was issued when the pandemic first arrived in Montana. A statewide mask mandate was enacted in July 2020. Now, COVID-19 restrictions have begun to ease as the number of cases drops in Montana. Throughout that series of events, the position of the Great Falls Police Department and the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office has stayed the same. Law enforcement officers will not arrest citizens for non-compliance with public health directives, but they may charge people if their actions land on the wrong side of the law.
