Man charged with murder over death at Bournemouth Travelodge

A MAN has been charged with murder following the death of a woman at a Bournemouth Hotel. Police were called to the Travelodge just after 8am on Wednesday, December 9, last year, following reports a woman had been found dead. The victim, who died of multiple blunt force head injuries, was named as 27-year-old Marta Vento, a Spanish national who was living in Bournemouthb and working as a receptionist at the Christchurch Road hotel. Stephen Cole, aged 32, from Bournemouth, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Following an assessment by mental health professionals, he was detained under section 2 of the Mental Health Act and placed into the care of mental health services.

Daniel Ribton cleared of manslaughter charge A MAN has been cleared of a manslaughter charge in connection with the death of a man at an address in Weymouth. At 4.13pm on April 4, Dorset Police was called to a report of a possible assault at an address on Dorchester Road. Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and found 32-year-old David Thomson with a serious head injury. He was taken to hospital for treatment where he died on the morning of April 5. A full investigation was carried out by detectives from Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT). Daniel Michael Ribton, 41, from Weymouth, was arrested in connection with the incident and subsequently charged.
