7. Paddy Ryder (St Kilda)
“I was weighing up is it Rowan Marshall or is it Paddy Ryder?
“I think Paddy Ryder is the better player and it hurts when he’s not there.”
6. Lachie Whitfield (GWS)
“He didn’t play for the Giants over the weekend.

Of course this round was going to up-end the calculations surrounding the top eight.
With Sydney closed to the AFL due to COVID, we had the Crows feasted upon, the Blues butchering the ball, the Saints surging and the Power petering out.
18. The Adelaide Crows (down two)
I may be writing this on Saturday morning, but I think a historically low score from the Crows warrants them going down to the bottom of the ladder. They were atrocious, there’s no sugar-coating for the Crows fans in the ground. The Crows were more like the carrion their namesakes feast upon. They were lucky that it was only 63 points, as a more clinical side would have destroyed them. Matthew Nicks was left with more questions than answers as his side was petrified against the Essendon surge.

Sydney have stamped their premiership credentials with a 19-point upset win over the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.
The Swans led at every break, holding a tough Bulldogs outfit at bay from late in the first term.
While John Longmire’s side has been somewhat inconsistent in 2021, they’ve continued to impress against the AFL’s best sides, with impressive scalps now including the Dogs, Cats, Lions, Eagles and Tigers.
Jordan Dawson (three goals, 26 disposals), Callum Mills (31 disposals) and Luke Parker (one goal, 27 disposals) found plenty of ball to control the game around the ground despite stunningly losing the clearance battle 46-26.
