Kids as young as 12 years old can now get COVID-19 vaccines throughout San Mateo County after federal and state medical advisers gave the green light this week.
Following Food and Drug Administration emergency approval early this week, the Western States Safety Review Group approved the Pfizer vaccine for those 12 and up on Wednesday night, paving the way for California to open up all sites to the newly eligible residents. San Mateo County followed suit, and sites across the county, including at the San Mateo County Event Center and the Pacelli Event Center in Daly City, began administering vaccines to kids Thursday morning.

Opals basketball star Liz Cambage has backed away from a potential Olympic boycott, saying that she will represent Australia at the Tokyo Games.
Cambage reacted furiously to an Australian Olympic Committee sponsor photo that featured only one athlete of colour, claiming that racial whitewashing had occurred.
Yet despite hinting at a boycott over the issue, she will go to Tokyo. For everyone wondering so desperately what my decision is for the Opals, I m in baby . I m in, she said in an Instagram story. How can I sit out when we have the bodysuits back? Imma look so good in it.
“I’m going to play with my sisters that I’ve been playing with since I was a wee little thing and I’m going to ball out for all those young brown kids back in Australia watching me, baby. I’m going to do it for you.” The confirmation will be a weight off the shoulders for Basketball Australia with athletes preparing to get their vaccinations this week.

Elizabeth “Liz” Cambage recently reached a boiling point with the alleged “whitewashing” taking place in the promo photos for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Cambage was outraged when she saw photos of Australian Olympic team members modeling official undergarments from Jockey. The Las Vegas Aces baller took to social media last week to express her frustrations with the campaign’s lack of diversity, in particular its exclusion of people of color.
