MEMBERS of the 1st Norton Scouts are taking place in a sponsored walk this weekend. The scout group is walking 6km on Sunday to raise funds to support the reopening of the group and also the Tom Parsons Trust. A spokesperson from 1st Norton Scouts said: The scout group has been closed throughout the COVID pandemic and has recently reopened to provide activities for young people. The group has recognised that some of their families have been financially affected by the pandemic and have paid the annual insurance fees on behalf of their members. The fundraising will support the costs of the insurance and also help to support our partner charity for this year the Tom Parsons Trust

Tom Parsons appointed the new CEO of the Gaelic Players Association

The Board of the Gaelic Players Association has announced that former Mayo footballer Tom Parsons has been appointed as the association’s Chief Executive Officer.
Tom has been a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the GPA since 2017 and a member of the Board of Directors since 2019. Tom has also previously been the GPA Secretary and, more recently, held the position of Chairman of the NEC. Following the merger with the WGPA, Tom has co-Chaired the NEC alongside Maria Kinsella.

THE GPA’S BOARD have appointed former Mayo footballer Tom Parsons as the association’s Chief Executive Officer.
Parsons has been a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the GPA since 2017 and a member of the Board of Directors since 2019. Following the merger with the WGPA, Tom has co-Chaired the NEC alongside Maria Kinsella.
Parsons said: “I am absolutely delighted and honoured to be appointed as the CEO of the GPA.
