It was put there by Staff Sergeant Mike Male, a Canadian who enlisted with U.S. forces in order to serve in Indochina, and had his Canadian citizenship stripped as a result. Whenever Canada suited up to fight a major foreign conflict in the 20 th century, there was a good chance we did it alongside the United States: Korea, the Persian Gulf War, both World Wars and the War in Afghanistan.
