COVID-19: Ogun Speaker, other lawmakers receive vaccination

Mr Olakunle Oluomo, the Speaker of Ogun House of Assembly and other lawmakers on Wednesday received the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccination.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the vaccine was administered on the speaker in Abeokuta by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker.
Speaking to newsmen after the vaccination exercise, the speaker described it as a very healthy medical intervention against the virus.
He urged residents of the state to shun any unfounded rumour about the vaccine, and take advantage of the on-going inoculation.

ABEOKUTA Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, yesterday, took delivery of 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine donated to the state by the Federal Government.
The governor received the vaccines in his office at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, shortly after the arrival of the state team, led by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker.
Abiodun said Ogun was the first state to receive the vaccines, saying the 50,000 doses was the first batch of vaccines expected.
According to him, another batch of 50,000 doses is expected to arrive today.
Abiodun said he and his deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, would lead the vaccination at a date to be fixed by the state medical team.

The Ogun Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, his deputy, Engr (Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and members of the State Executive Council, on Monday evening, received the Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
While the vaccine was administered on the former governor of the state, Chief Olusegun Osoba, on Tuesday, at the Governor’s Office Clinics, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

THE Federal Government has confirmed that the movement of Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to states has commenced on Monday while its delivery will be completed on Tuesday (today).
The Executive Director of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Faisal Shuaib, stated this during a press conference of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
During the event, the Chairman of the PTF and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, led all members of the PTF and four journalists to receive the doses of the vaccine.
Shuaib said, “The movement of the vaccine to the states has commenced today (Monday). All things being equal, the delivery of the vaccine will be completed tomorrow.
