LAFC sends $50,000 to the Union for Homegrown rights to Tomas Romero
The Union Academy grad won a national championship with Georgetown University in 2019

LAFC is sending $50,000 in General Allocation Money to the Philadelphia Union. In exchange for the homegrown player rights to Union Academy alum and goalkeeper Tomas Romero. The transaction does not include any sell on fee percentages to the U if Romero is sold to a team outside MLS in the future.
The 20-year-old Cherry Hill native recently played for Georgetown University. While playing with the Hoyas, he recorded 10 wins with seven shutouts. He also helped lead Georgetown to the University’s first NCAA Soccer College Cup title by making the final save in a penalty kick shootout.
