The story of Trash Boat vocalist Tobi Duncan is one you couldn t make up – or wouldn t want to, anyway. With his band preparing to release their career-defining third album, Don t You Feel Amazing?, he charts the personal agony that has inspired him to seize his breakout moment with everything he has.
A few weeks back,
Trash Boat released a brand new single called Silence Is Golden .
Not just a cathartic and calloused slab of noise made to ignite the fire inside of you but also a call to arms to incite change on a global scale, its a song with a message that needs to be heard.
And that message is reverberating around the world as we speak.
The song currently No.01 over on Sirius XM Octane in the US, according to Mediabase, which is an incredible spot to be in for a British band.
It s something the band are incredibly proud of too:
Trash Boat have just released their new track Silence Is Golden .
It sounds a lot like this:
Rather than writing a track that just angrily points at those in power for their failings and hoping that things change, the band have instead set out to start a passionate and positive conversation about wealth and the clear divide that it triggers. With a plethora of resources in tow and a thirst to learn and to grow, Trash Boat are opening up a whole new channel of communication for people who may have felt out of their depth previously.
We jumped on the phone with vocalist Tobi Duncan to discuss the inspirations behind the track and how exactly they have reached a place where they feel confident and comfortable to approach issues such as this.

A St Albans group have released their intense new single featuring a powerful message about homophobia.
Trash Boat dropped track
He s So Good and its accompanying music video directed by Zak Pinchin on Friday.
It s a concept piece about a young man who, even in the face of abandonment, spite and naked homophobia, remains a positive and loyal element in their family.
A timely and much-needed comment on the discrimination that still runs rife in our society, it’s a topic that, in many senses, strikes close to home for the band.
