Kirkland Lake reports higher gold production, boosted by Detour purchase The Canadian Press VIDEO SIGN OUT CALGARY Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. is reporting full-year 2020 gold output of 1.37 million ounces, a 41 per cent increase from 2019 and in line with guidance. The increase in production was driven largely by the all-stock $4.34-billion purchase of Detour Gold Corp. early in the year, which contributed 517,000 ounces from Jan. 31 to Dec. 31. But the Toronto-based miner says all three of its cornerstone assets finished strongly, achieving their highest quarterly production levels of 2020 in the fourth quarter. It says consolidated production in the last three months of 2020 was 369,000 ounces, up 32 per cent from the year-earlier period and nine per cent higher than the third quarter.

Canada Silver Cobalt Works discovered a fifth high-grade silver vein at its Castle Silver Mine property in Gowganda. The B.C.-based explorer is 18,000 metres into a 50,000-metre drill program at its Robinson Zone Project, 30 kilometres south of Alamos Gold s Young-Davidson Mine. A Dec. 29 news release said the vein was intersected within 60 metres of their original discovery vein found in 2011. One particularly rich drill hole yielded 40,944 grams per tonne of silver over a core length of 0.45 metres.

Kirkland Lake reports wide, high-grade intersections at Detour Lake Detour Lake mine, a large-scale open pit mine in northeastern Ontario. ( Kirkland Lake Gold (TSX:KL, NYSE:KL) announced results from 25 holes (19,523 m) and one wedge hole (1,110 m) of drilling at the Detour Lake property in Northern Ontario. Significant results from the drilling include 4.38 gpt over 31.0 m, including 47.46 gpt over 2.0 m and 5.45 gpt over 3.2 m, from hole DLM-20-028, and 1.50 gpt over 75.0 m, including 3.59 gpt over 23.0 m, 1.33 gpt over 14.7 m, 0.87 gpt over 30.9 m and 0.78 gpt over 21.0 m from hole DLM-20-035, both at the east portion of Saddle Zone, located between the Main Pit and West Pit locations.
