Charity plans new Pocklington venue

New volunteer James Sayer, who is leading the weekly games sessions at the local park at West Green, Pocklington POCKLINGTON youth charity (YPC) has elected six new trustees as it prepares to open its first dedicated building for young people. YPC held its seventh AGM at the end of last month where the six were voted in to officially form a management committee alongside existing chair Claire Reading, co-founder and vice-chair Les Slow, and Dawn Stone, YPC’s Secretary. They are local residents Richard Knill, Adam Lea, Jon Pack, Helen Stephenson, Jo Summers and Gerry Wareham. YPC is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to open its new facility on Railway Street in Pocklington, providing the first long-term investment in youth services in the area since 2013. The YPC building will be a place where young people aged 11-18 can “chat, chill and create” from 4pm-8pm initially on weekdays, with regular activities planned and a café bar available for refreshments.
