Buster Douglas tells James Slater what came before, during, and after his fight with Mike Tyson
COLUMBUS, Ohio’s James “Buster” Douglas will always be remembered for one incredible fight/upset: the one that occurred the day he challenged the seemingly invincible Mike Tyson on February 11th 1990 in Tokyo, Japan.
Douglas simply shocked the entire world with his tenth-round KO win and his name will forever live in the history books as a result. But Douglas, who exited with a 38-6-1(25) record in 1999, had a number of other interesting fights, not all of them wins, and here he recalls his career for Boxing News:

THE mid-20th century gave birth to a new breed of athlete; men who were big, well-coordinated, and faster than men their size had been before. By the start of the new millennium, athletes had further honed their natural gifts and were even bigger than their predecessors. Two heavyweights personified this trend: Lennox Lewis and Michael Grant. When they met in the ring at Madison Square Garden on April 29, 2000, Lewis was the reigning heavyweight champion. But Grant was seen in some circles as the heir apparent to the throne.
Updated: 5:17 AM EST Feb 2, 2021 A fire burned Monday afternoon under a bridge near the Cherrydale area of Greenville sending smoke billowing along Poinsett Highway. (Video from viewer Carlos Quintanilla Argueta above /// Sky 4 video of aftermath below) The fire happened about 2 p.m. on the Fulton H. Anthony Memorial Bridge near the Jack in the Box restaurant. The Parker Fire Department said it was a large trash fire under the bridge. Donnie Tucker, the deputy fire chief, said a homeless population lives under the bridge. He said there were some kerosene containers under the bridge but he was not sure if that is what started the fire. Viewers sent us video and pictures of smoke billowing in the area.
