Lincoln Burger King construction plans for move forward after delay

Construction plans for a new Burger King in Lincoln are about to get underway, although a year later than originally planned. Maruti Seth, president of the franchise Group 2029 Inc., said bids are being accepted to construct a new building at 920 Woodlawn Road, just east of Casey s General Store. A fall 2021 opening is planned. The new Burger King originally was projected to open in the fall of 2020, but fallout from the pandemic required the timeline to be delayed, Seth said. The Whopper has been homeless in this Logan County community since the restaurant then operated as a Carrols LLC holding closed its original location at 1503 Woodlawn Road in 2018.

Three Twigs Bakery To Make Westward Expansion

After an eventful 2020, the Lewis Family have signed a lease for the building formerly occupied by Pie’s The Limit at 3429 Freedom Drive, just in front of Target. This new location will move the bakery from its current location on Toronto Road, which Emily Lewis tells the Springfield Business Journal was always meant to be temporary and will triple Three Twigs’ kitchen size. If you recall, Three Twigs had originally planned to return to their downtown roots on East Adams, but the project never materialized. The Lewis’s also operate Biscuits + Brunch and The Salted Lemon Market & Creamery both located in the Montvale Junction Plaza.

Three Twigs Bakery opening new location on Springfield s west side

Three Twigs Bakery has found a new home on Springfield’s west side but its departure won’t be leaving a vacancy on Toronto Road. Owner Emily Lewis confirmed a contract has been signed to move the business to 3429 Freedom Drive, the former Pie’s the Limit site in Parkway Pointe. The bakery’s last day at 1370 Toronto Road is March 14. However, fans still will be able to purchase the bakery’s scratch-made pastries from the address. Brandon and Cana Austin are taking over the Toronto Road location, which will be home to Grateful Coffee Co. An early April opening is expected. The first-time business owners say the initial menu will serve a wide variety of hot and iced coffee drinks, sandwiches made with Three Twigs breads and Three Twigs pastries.
