The Thai fourth seed defeated Yeo Jia Min of Singapore 21-15, 21-15 and will face Yvonne Li of Germany for a place in the women’s singles quarter-finals.
Li strolled past Hadia Hosny of Egypt 21-7, 21-9 in just 19 minutes.

Kuala Lumpur: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) reversed its decision on the Yonex Thailand Open opening round match between national women’s singles shuttler S. Kisona and Indian player Saina Nehwal, who was tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
The sport’s international governing body, which had declared a walkover for Kisona Tuesday, cleared Saina for the match after further tests found the Olympics and World Championship medallist and her husband Parupalli Kashyap are free of infection.
Both women’s singles and men’s singles matches involving the couple which were supposed to be held Tuesday were rescheduled to Wednesday evening at the Impact Arena, Bangkok.

SINGAPORE: Three of the four badminton players who had tested positive for COVID-19 have been cleared to return to competition at the Thailand Open, said the Badminton World Federation (BWF) in a press release on Tuesday (Jan 12).
The players - India s Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy as well as Germany s Jones Ralfy Jansen, had initially tested positive for COVID-19 during the third round of mandatory testing for the players on Monday, the sport s governing body had said. BWF was informed on Tuesday morning, hours before the start of the tournament.
