6 NFL Players Who Will Break Out on New Teams in 2021

0 of 6 Ron Schwane/Associated Press For a variety of reasons, NFL players with limited production reach new career heights after a change of scenery.  Some of the most talented players fall short of expectations because of a subpar supporting cast, competition on the depth chart or significant injuries. With a fresh and healthy start elsewhere, underperforming veterans could strive toward their peak.  With the Minnesota Vikings, wideout Stefon Diggs competed with Adam Thielen for targets. Last offseason, the Buffalo Bills acquired him, and he elevated his game to another level. The 27-year-old earned his first All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods after leading the league in receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,535) for the 2020 term.

Rams prepare for fifth draft without a first-round draft pick - Los Angeles Rams Blog- ESPN

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. When the NFL draft begins April 29, it s expected to be a quiet evening around the Los Angeles Rams draft headquarters. For a fifth consecutive year, the Rams are not scheduled to make a first-round selection and barring another blockbuster move, they won t make a first-round pick until 2024. The Rams sent their 2020 and 2021 first-round picks (No. 25 overall), along with a fourth-round selection (No. 130) to the Jacksonville Jaguars ahead of the 2019 trade deadline in exchange for All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey. And their 2022 and 2023 first-round picks, along with a third-round selection (No. 101) were shipped to Detroit along with quarterback Jared Goff the last player the Rams picked in the first round (No. 1 overall in 2016) and who also cost a 2017 first-round pick to trade up for in exchange for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Robert Woods: Rams offense looking loaded once again with Stafford, Jackson additions

Copied! The Los Angeles Rams offense slipped the last couple of seasons under Sean McVay, particularly the passing game in 2020. Without a deep threat and a quarterback who struggled off-script, the Rams offense finished 22nd in drive success rate last season and 22nd in points scored. After two years of sea-changing success in McVay s first two seasons, the Rams have struggled to live up to those expectations. To reverse that trend, the Rams imported two key veterans: quarterback Matthew Stafford and wideout DeSean Jackson. Joining NFL Network s Good Morning Football on Thursday, Rams receiver Robert Woods said he s looking forward to what the quarterback with the big arm can bring to McVay s offense.
