Gleyber Torres hit a bases-loaded infield single with no outs in the 11th inning, lifting the New York Yankees to a dramatic 4-3 victory over the visiting Washington Nationals.
With DJ LeMahieu on second base to start the 11th, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton drew walks off Tanner Rainey (0-2)to load the bases. Torres hit a soft high chopper a little over halfway down the third base line. Rainey moved in front of third baseman Starlin Castro to field the ball, but LeMahieu beat the off-balance throw home.

Daniel Lynch did not look like a top pitching prospect, tonight.
The promise he showed by gutting through four and two-thirds innings against Cleveland had all but vanished. The heat on his fastball seemed diminished and all of his pitches were missing up where the White Sox hitters could demolish them. The slider didn’t have nearly the same bite. The changeup appeared to simply float and wait to be obliterated.
Ultimately Lynch only got two outs but allowed eight hits and eight earned runs including a home run. He did not walk or strike out any. Tyler Zuber was asked to help the Royals escape the first inning and allowed two more hits before mercifully bringing the Royals to bat for the first time.
AP Photos The White Sox sent 13 batters to the plate, hit for the cycle as a team and saw the first three batters in their lineup go 2-for-2 all in the first inning Saturday against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium. By the time it was over, eight runs had scored against Royals top pitching prospect
Daniel Lynch. The sixth and seventh runs came on No. 9 hitter
Danny Mendick’s home run into the Sox’ bullpen in left field.
Tim Anderson’s second hit, a single, was the knockout blow for Lynch.

Harold Ramirez hit a tiebreaking double in the eighth inning and the Cleveland Indians defeated the host Kansas City Royals 7-3 Tuesday night.
The Indians, who scored four runs in the eighth, have won each of the first two games in the four-game series, and they have three consecutive victories overall.
The Royals squandered a 3-0 lead while losing a third straight game for the first time this season.
With one out in the eights, Cleveland s Franmil Reyes was down 0-2 before coaxing a walk from Josh Staumont (0-1). Reyes went to second on a wild pitch and scored on Ramirez s double. Ramirez came home on Josh Naylor s RBI single, and Naylor scored on Jake Bauers pinch-hit home run off Tyler Zuber.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Jake Bauers earned the bat flip that followed his two-run pinch-hit home run Tuesday in Cleveland’s 7-3 win at Kauffman Stadium. He says the flip was one of his better efforts.
“There was lot of maybe, ‘Dang, it’s about time’ in that one,” Bauers said. “That felt nice.”
Bauers’ blast off Royals reliever Tyler Zuber in the eighth inning marked the second pinch-hit homer of his career and first since Sept. 2, 2019 against Carson Fulmer of the White Sox. It was also his first big league home run of any kind since that game, a span of 69 at-bats.
