Protestors rally for truth, justice for Ethan Calton

RUTHERFORDTON — A smattering of demonstrators participated in a planned protest in honor of slain suspect Saturday afternoon at the Rutherford County Courthouse. About a dozen attended the protest, held to bring attention and raise awareness about the Dec. 1 shooting death of Ethan T, Calton when officers attempted to arrest him on multiple charges. Those present wanted to paint Calton as more than a man with a criminal record. “He wasn’t just a felon,” said protest organizer Lexi Kennedy. “He was a husband, father, son and a brother. Everybody loved him.” Those who knew Calton said he often flashed a large smile and was a good friend to many.
