[foogallery id=”51943″] Tyrone’s traditional contest brings cheer home for the holidays Tyrone residents plan to brighten the darkest night of this year with their annual Light Contest on Monday, when Santa Claus will join in the festivities during his annual holiday run through the community accompanied by the Tyrone Volunteer Fire Department. In a year when most holiday gatherings are canceled due to COVID-19, the event will allow families to pile into their cars for some much needed drive-by holiday cheer.  Starting at 6 p.m., dozens of homes in the small community will plug in their festive lights to compete for the honor of being the best and brightest though those two factors are not, necessarily, the criteria for winning.
