On Wednesday, April 28, at 7:00 pm, Jad Finck, VP of Innovation and Sustainability, Allbirds, will begin the Darien Community Association’s highly-acclaimed speaker series, Darien Neighbors, Global Players. Jad will be in conversation with Nate Checketts, co-founder, and CEO of Rhone. They will discuss Innovating Better Things in a Better Way.
Allbirds is well-known for its ultra-comfy Merino Wool Runners. As one of their first employees, Jad Finck leads the development of the company’s major footwear and apparel innovations including their eucalyptus fiber Tree fabric and SweetFoam™, a Time Best Invention of the Year. A graduate of Darien High School, Stanford University, and USC’s Marshall School of Business, Jad is excited to “return home.”

Darien Community Association’s “New Information and Inspiration” virtual presentations will feature “From farmhouse to high rise” with Architect James von Klemperer on Feb. 23 at 10 a.m.
The Information and Inspiration series are virtual gatherings open to all to elevate knowledge and broaden intelligence, while also providing an opportunity to connect with others
. The association has partnered with authors, business entrepreneurs and specialists on travel, culture and the arts.
Klemperer will talk about his experiences as an architect, examining structures small and large. Living in a 1720 house in Darien, to which his family moved in the 1920s, he learned about the mortise and tenon woodwork of John Bell’s shipwright craftsmanship.
