Cape Town - When the Covid-19 pandemic took away his livelihood as a tour guide back in May 2020, Faieez âFuzzyâ Alexander from Wetton decided to try his hand at making koesisters for sale in an effort to support his family. He had never made them before.
âI had to do something not just to pay my bills but to put food on the table. I started making koesisters on a Sunday in the middle of May and selling them from home and on my first try I sold over 2 000.

Toxic sewage spill causes a stink at Milnerton lagoon

Cape Town - Public pressure group, ReThinkTheStink says the Milnerton lagoon is turning toxic following yet another sewage spill over the weekend.
The group said the sewage smell started coming down towards the lagoon’s mouth and the water began to turn a milky white grey colour with the odour growing more pungent.

As a precaution, the City of Cape Town had advised residents of the CBD and Atlantic Seaboard not to drink municipal tap water.
Mobile standpipes were installed along Beach Road for residents to collect water for domestic consumption, if necessary.
The City said an investigation into the quality of the water has shown no health risk.
The City of Cape Town announced that the precautionary water advisory, relating to the Atlantic Seaboard, has been lifted.
After extensive sampling, it has been revealed that there is no health risk in the distribution system. The water is safe to drink.
