ST JOHN S has been one of the safest seats for the Labour Party on Worcestershire County Council for some time now with Richard Udall representing the division for decades. He was also last elected to the city council to represent St John s in 2019 finishing 630 votes ahead of the Conservatives - picking up 57 per cent of the vote. Plans to convert the former Dines Green Post Office, which closed almost three years ago, into a fish and chip shop have been approved by Worcester City Council. Dines Green Post Office off Gresham Road in Worcester closed in September 2017 and has been empty ever since. The Post Office confirmed in October 2018 that it would not be reopening and the plans are the first to be put forward for the empty building in more than two years.
THE parts of the city that have seen the most jabs given out so far have been revealed in the last NHS vaccine figures. A total of 4,670 people have received at least one jab in Lower Wick and Bromwich Road up to March 28 - the most in the city. As many as 4,496 people have received at least one jab in Northwick according to the latest NHS data. As many as 4,385 people have received at least one jab in Battenhall and Diglis. Figures show 4,007 people in Dines Green and St John s have received at least one vaccine and 3,997 people have had at least one jab in Barbourne and Rainbow Hill.
