Officially, Michael Hurry retired a month ago as executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton, but he’s still dropping by the office to help with the transition and still thinking up ways to raise money for the agency he served for more than four decades.
Over the past decade, annual international fundraising treks he helped lead to locations such as Mount Everest, Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu raised about $750,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Another trek to Nepal postponed by the pandemic is still expected to go head in the future, but Hurry is now thinking about a fundraiser that hits a little closer to home.
