NEW HAVEN, Conn. Closing arguments in the Derek Chauvin trial are set to begin Monday. The former officer who knelt on the neck of George Floyd is facing charges of second and third-degree murder, along with manslaughter. The trial has been one of the closest watched in decades.

Police say the scene at Long Cove Mobile Home Park on North Road is beginning to clear after-effects of a Sunday afternoon incident rolled into Monday.
Groton Town Police, including tactical teams, responded to a report of a despondent man at approximately 4:35 p.m. Sunday, according to a Facebook post.
Police on scene told FOX61 s Angelo Bavaro that they determined the man to be no threat to himself or others and no criminal charges are pending at this time. The shelter in place order was lifted.
