Saying goodbye to the outstanding Michigan Wolverines football and basketball fans of TheWolverine

The Michigan Wolverines football stadium was built in 1927. (MGoBlue.com) “GOD SIMPLY DOES NOT WANT MICHIGAN TO WIN TODAY. THAT IS THE ONLY EXPLANATION,” he said (and truly believed it at the time). The funny part is, they went on to win the game. The losses over the years have taken a toll on the family, including my sister, Amber. It took her about a week to start interacting with humanity again after Michigan lost to Michigan State in 2001. My hometown of Westphalia, Mich., is a German Catholic village filled with countless diehard Wolverine fans, and the 2005 loss to Notre Dame, for example, hit the reader extra hard during Sunday Mass the following day.

Letters: After FedEx shooting, blame the Red Flag law — not prosecutor

I applaud FedEx for not allowing cellphones at work. Every time I go to any store whether a gas station, grocery store or a department store, you have to wait for the clerk or cashier to put their phone down before they can wait on you.  As fast paced as a FedEx warehouse can be, just think of all the injuries they are preventing. David Groves Gun owners need to be part of the solution In his April 17 article, Mass shooting won t alter gun culture, James Briggs referenced a Bureau of Justice Statistics report that over half of incarcerated individuals who used guns in their crimes stole them. He went on to say that 43% purchased them on the black market (also, I believe, most likely stolen). Briggs then makes the point that the stolen and illegally purchased guns had to come from somewhere; that being legitimate owners. He then offers the following opinion: The only way to suppress that market is to take steps that are political nonstarters in the U.S.: Make private gun owne

West Sussex readers react to rubbish tip changes - which include a booking system and only one visit per week

Updated Worthing tip after last year s first lockdown. Picture by Steve Robards However, it is also trialling a new booking system for residents visiting Bognor Regis, Crawley, Horsham, Littlehampton, Shoreham-By-Sea and Worthing tips. The trial is designed to allow residents to safely dispose of their recycling and waste, limit their waiting times at these sites and help reduce traffic disruption. When live, slots can be booked up to 14 days in advance and residents will only be able to make one trip in a week (Monday-Sunday). Mikey Blackwood wrote on the Littlehampton Facebook page: Just open them full time again, then there would be no huge queues and gridlock with the likelihood of the police shutting them. Also there would be no need for a booking system or to bring in the summer times earlier. It worked before they changed the opening days and now it s kicking them in the teeth.
